Jean-Luc Pappi: piano and compositions. Very energetic piano player. We play his composition with latin and modal influence.

Bruno Castellucci: drums. Bruno played drums with everybody from Jaco Pastorius to Jan Akkerman buth will be most remembered for his work in the bands of Toots Thielemans.

Chris Mentens: acoustic bass

The Muze 5 is the house band of the famous cult jazz club The Muze. We play every Tuesday at 9 PM.

The band is:
Jan De Coninck: trumpet and  already more then 35 years the bandleader.
Vincent Brijs: sax.
Bram Weijters: piano
Vincent Diericxk: drums
Chris Mentens: acoustic bass

Nathan Kerstens (piano), Nico Manssens (drums) and Chris Mentens (double bass) played together in different line-ups over the years.

A first concert in trio confirmed the magic and a pile of compositions were waiting in the drawer. Determined to develop the music, they worked on the pieces in the Garage, the musical epicenter of the Mentens household.

In the music we find echoes of the open sound of the ECM label, but most of all we hear original pieces for 3 equal voices: drums, bass and piano. Or how a sound from Munich and a garage in Merksem can be connected and old love never dies.
